Resetting your PS4 controller will frequently fix any glitchy behaviour or connection difficulties you may be experiencing. We’ll lead you through both soft and hard resets in this step-by-step tutorial, giving you back control over your gaming experience.

Reconnecting the Controller to do a Soft Reset

  1. Make use of Bluetooth devices: On your PlayStation dashboard, start by going to Settings > Devices > Bluetooth Devices.

  2. Choose the Inactive Controller: Choose the DualShock 4 controller that isn’t in use (the one without the green dot).

  3. Ignore Device: To uninstall the broken controller, press the Options button on your functional controller and choose Forget Device.

  4. Turn off the PS4: Utilise the functional controller to access Power > Switch off the PS4. Restart the console by connecting the broken controller via USB.

  5. Sign in: On the broken controller, press the PS button to access your PS4.

Hard Reset: Restoring Factory Presets

  1. Compile necessary items: Take out an unfurled paper clip or pin and a Micro-USB cord to do a hard reset.

  2. Switch off the PS4: Make sure your PS4 is off, and unplug it from the internet if necessary.

  3. Find the Reset Button: After flipping the controller, locate the recessed reset button next to the L2 button, and push it for at least six seconds with a paper clip.

  4. Let Go and Turn On: After a brief period of time, release the reset button and insert the Micro-USB cable into the controller.

  5. Pair and Sign In: Hit the PS button. A blue light bar indicates that the controller is paired. Open your PlayStation 4 and log in.

Extra Tips for Troubleshooting

  • Switch Off and  Charge: Make sure your controller is charged if the problem continues. You may set a time restriction in the Quick Menu or turn it off by holding down the PS button for ten seconds.

  • Wi-Fi router or modem restart for connectivity issues? Try playing without Wi-Fi after turning off your modem and router and hard resetting the controller.

Try Using a Different Device

To determine whether the problem is device-specific, try your controller on a different gadget. To check for issues with wireless connectivity, attach a friend’s controller to your PS4.

This unexpected blockade has caused a lot of confusion and frustration among affected users.

According to first-hand accounts, the suspension message appears without prior warning or explanation, leading many to speculate about potential security issues or system glitches within Sony’s network. The exact number of affected users is unclear, but social media platforms and online forums are full of discussions and reports from people affected by this issue.

Sony's Response

PlayStation’s parent company Sony has not yet released an official statement on the situation. This lack of communication has further added to the growing concern among the PlayStation community. Users are eager for clarity on whether these suspensions are the result of a technical error or if they stem from a more serious underlying problem.

Impact on the Gaming Community

The PlayStation Network, known for connecting gamers around the world and providing access to a vast library of digital games, is an integral part of the PlayStation experience. This unexpected disruption has significantly impacted many people’s gaming routines, causing disruption to online gaming, access to purchased content, and social interactions within the gaming community.

As the story develops, PlayStation users are demanding a quick and transparent response from Sony, hoping for a solution that will restore access to their accounts and shed light on the reason for these sudden suspensions. This incident is a reminder of the challenges and vulnerabilities inherent in digital and online gaming platforms.

Call of Duty

Microsoft signs agreement to keep Call of Duty on PlayStation

Microsoft stated on Sunday that Sony and Microsoft have reached a legally enforceable agreement that would keep Call of Duty available on PlayStation gaming platforms when the Activision Blizzard purchase is completed.

“We are pleased to announce that Microsoft and PlayStation have signed a binding agreement to keep Call of Duty on PlayStation following the acquisition of Activision Blizzard,” Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer said on Twitter Sunday.

The Call of Duty series, which is the most popular, is produced by Activision. If an Activision merger was authorized, regulators from every corner of the world have raised serious concerns about Microsoft’s potential dominance of the gaming industry.

Concerns that Microsoft might be allowed to develop games “private” to its systems and eliminate Sony from rivalry arose from the simple fact that Microsoft produces the Xbox, which is directly competing with Sony’s PlayStation.

Even though Microsoft and Sony aren’t specifying the term of the arrangement, the pact helps to some extent to allay such worries. A Microsoft representative said the agreement was set up for the long haul. Similar agreements have already been made by the business.

Jim Ryan, the chief executive officer of Sony’s interactive entertainment section, has expressed worries about anti-competitive conduct. Ryan, whose holdings comprise PlayStation, stated he believed that the suggested Activision Blizzard purchase would hurt competitiveness in the videogame industry recorded in a videotape in June.

Brad Smith, vice president of Microsoft, stated on Twitter on Sunday that regardless of when a prospective merger closes,

Microsoft “will remain focused on ensuring that Call of Duty remains available on more platforms and for more consumers than ever before.”

The merger may not go through, but Microsoft and Activision’s chances are much stronger now that the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) won’t be able to temporarily postpone the transaction. In July, the Federal Trade Commission filed a lawsuit in the federal court of San Francisco to block the transaction but was unable to persuade the jury that the merger would represent a significant anti-competitive threat.

The agreement was approved by the European Union’s regulatory bodies in May. The UK’s Competition and Markets Agency, which is which has compelled divestitures and halted other tech transactions, declared on Wednesday that it was ready to speak with Microsoft about the conditions of the transaction.

Starfield

Is Starfield coming to PS5 or PlayStation?

Starfield, the upcoming game from Bethesda Softworks, will not be available on PlayStation consoles at launch or in the future. The game is being developed as an exclusive for Xbox consoles and Windows PCs, as Bethesda is now a part of the Xbox family of studios.

While other Bethesda games like The Elder Scrolls Online and Fallout 76 are still supported on PlayStation, Starfield is a new IP that is designed as a single-player experience and is intended to be an Xbox console exclusive.

Although there might have been plans for a PlayStation version of Starfield earlier in its development, those plans have been abandoned. Bethesda’s acquisition by Microsoft means that future games from Bethesda and its studios are likely to be exclusive to Xbox and Windows PC platforms.

This is exemplified by Starfield, a high-profile single-player game that is built from the ground up as an Xbox console exclusive. There are no indications that it will be released on other platforms like the PS5 or previous PlayStation consoles.

While this news may disappoint PlayStation gamers who are fans of Bethesda, it is the reality of the situation. However, it’s important to note that not all Bethesda-published titles will be exclusive to Xbox.

Xbox has stated that exclusivity will be evaluated on a “case-by-case” basis, considering factors such as a franchise’s history on other platforms or the potential benefits of cross-platform support. Starfield, however, is not expected to fall into this category.

It’s worth mentioning that Starfield will not only be exclusive to Xbox consoles but will also be available on Windows PC through platforms like Steam and the Microsoft Store on its launch day. This means that even if players don’t own an Xbox Series X|S console, they can still experience Starfield by playing it on a powerful gaming PC.

Additionally, players have the option to access Starfield through Xbox Game Pass, PC Game Pass, and Xbox Cloud Gaming, which offer a subscription-based approach to gaming. This allows subscribers to enjoy all the latest Xbox exclusives, including Bethesda games, without needing to purchase each game individually at full price.

Starfield is set to release on September 9, 2023, and preorders are now open. Players who preorder the Premium Edition can gain early access to the game, along with additional in-game bonuses.

While PlayStation users may be disappointed, Starfield is shaping up to be an exceptional game for Xbox, promising to deliver an immersive and expansive RPG experience.

In conclusion, Starfield will be exclusive to Xbox consoles and Windows PCs, with no plans for a PlayStation release. Bethesda’s acquisition by Microsoft has solidified this exclusivity, and although other Bethesda-published titles may still be considered for multiplatform releases on a case-by-case basis, Starfield is not expected to be one of them.

Despite the disappointment for PlayStation gamers, Starfield remains highly anticipated as one of the standout Xbox games of the year, offering an ambitious and immersive RPG experience.
