Apple Halts

Apple Halts Sales In Russia Amid Ukraine Invasion.

In Russia, Apple halts sales of iPhones, iPads, Macs, and other hardware products. The latest move is a retaliation for the country’s invasion of Ukraine, which began late last month. Apple blocked Apple Pay in Russia, pulled Russian apps such as Sputnik and RT News from the App Store outside Russia, and disabled live traffic in Ukraine on Apple Maps as part of its support for Ukraine.

Apple has “paused all product sales in Russia,” according to a statement. We were able to access Apple’s Russian website, but the company’s online store is currently unavailable in the country.

Apple stopped all exports to Russia last week, and some software restrictions were among the few steps it took to support Ukraine and “stand with all of the people who are suffering as a result of the violence,” according to Apple. Other tech companies, including Google, Meta (formerly Facebook), and Netflix, have imposed various restrictions on their products in Russia, in addition to Apple.

According to a company spokesman, in addition to Apple halts the sale of all Apple products in Russia, the company’s popular payment service, Apple Pay, is being restricted in the country.

Because Apple does not have any physical stores in Russia, where iPhones are the third most popular smartphone, the move has an impact on online sales. In Russia, Apple’s phones trail Xiaomi and Samsung in national sales.

It follows similar moves by Facebook, Twitter, and TikTok to combat Russian propaganda, including Apple’s removal of Russian government-backed media accounts from its App Store. Despite the Russian government’s pleas, Netflix says it will not stream state government channels.

Apple Maps users in Ukraine will notice the following alterations: Apple adds that two features, traffic, and live incidents, have been disabled as a safety measure for Ukrainian citizens.
While Apple has not said whether banning sales of iPhones and other physical products in Russia was a strategic decision, Ukrainian Vice Prime Minister Mykhailo Fedorov published an open letter to the company last week urging it to cut Russia off from its global operations. He demanded that Apple “stop supplying Apple services and products to the Russian Federation” and that the App Store be blocked for Russia.

The disruption in flights and cargos could also be to blame for the halt in Apple’s physical product sales in Russia. Several countries have imposed restrictions on flights and cargo shipments to Russia. Apple relies on imports from other countries because it does not manufacture or assemble iPhones or other products in Russia. Apple’s ability to sell its products in Russia is nearly impossible due to the ban.

Apple stated that it will continue to “evaluate the situation” in Russia and that it is “in communication with relevant governments on the actions we are taking.” The statement did not name the governments, but Apple’s latest move would prevent Russian customers from purchasing new iPhones from Apple’s own stores. Despite the fact that Apple’s actions are broad, they do not completely prevent Russians from accessing the App Store.

Apple Will Continue To Be The Most Valuable Brand, Followed By Amazon, Google, And Microsoft.

According to a report, Apple will retain its title as the world’s most valuable brand in 2022, with a valuation of $355.1 billion (roughly Rs. 26,72,600 crores). The Cupertino company’s value has increased by 35% as a result of its increased market recognition. After Apple, Amazon, and Google were named among the year’s top three most valuable brands. TikTok, on the other hand, has become the world’s fastest-growing brand, with a valuation that is expected to increase by 215 percent by 2022.

Apple has become the first brand to reach a market valuation of $3 trillion, according to Brand Finance’s latest ranking report. In 2021, the company’s branding increased from $263.37 billion (roughly Rs. 19,83,000 crore) to $355.1 billion in 2022.

According to the report, Apple’s brand value increased by 35% year over year to reach a new high. The success of the iPhone 12 and iPhone 13 around the world was a major factor in the company’s growth. The company’s slew of products across other verticals, however, only added to this. The new generation of iPads, iMacs, MacBooks, and the AirTag are among them.

In addition, Apple’s diverse range of services has grown significantly. Apple Music, Apple Pay, Apple TV, and other platforms grew in popularity and revenue, propelling Apple’s brand value to new heights.

“The iPhone continues to account for roughly half of Apple’s sales. “However, with a new generation of iPads, an overhaul of the iMac, and the introduction of AirTags, Apple has given more attention to its other suite of products this year,” the company said.

In 2022, Amazon is ranked second in Brand Finance’s Global 500 ranking, following Apple. With a 38 percent increase to $350.3 billion, the US e-commerce behemoth joined the iPhone maker in surpassing the $300 billion mark (roughly Rs. 26,36,800 crore).
“Amazon considers logistics to be critical, and it is building its own end-to-end supply chain with a growing fleet of trucks, vans, and planes. The brand has invested an estimated $80 billion in its logistics division between 2020 and 2021, compared to a combined $58 billion in the previous five years, according to the firm.

According to Model Finance, Google’s model worth increased by 38 percent this year to $263.4 billion (roughly Rs. 19,82,880 crore). According to the agency, because Google relies on advertising for the vast majority of its revenue, it was initially harmed by the COVID-19 pandemic as advertising spending fell. The search giant’s business, on the other hand, rebounded as the world adjusted to the new standard, according to the report.
This year, Microsoft remained in fourth place in Model Finance’s World 500 ranking, trailing only Google. The company’s value has increased by over 31% to $184.2 billion (roughly Rs. 13,86,390 crore).
Walmart has surpassed Samsung to become the fourth most valuable brand in 2022, according to Brand Finance. The company now has a brand value of $ 111.91 billion, up 20% from $ 93.18 billion last year.
Samsung, on the other hand, dropped to fifth place with a brand value of $ 107.28 billion (about 860,200 rupees). The company has risen to the top 25 most valuable brands in brand finance, making it the only Korean company to do so.
In this year’s Brand Finance 500 rankings, Huawei, unlike Samsung, has risen from 21st to 9th place. The value of Chinese companies has increased by 29% to $ 71.2 billion, according to the company.

“US sanctions hit Huawei’s smartphone business hard, but the company responded positively by ramping up investment in both domestic technology companies and R&D, as well as shifting its focus to cloud services,” according to Brand Finance.

TikTok has been named the world’s fastest-growing brand by Brand Finance, in addition to the leading top-value brands. Over the last year, the short-video app’s brand value has increased by 215 percent to $59 billion (roughly Rs. 4,43,300 crore). It ranked 18th among the top 500 most valuable brands in the world, according to the brand valuation consultancy.

Snapchat, like TikTok, became a popular app this year, with its brand value increasing. According to Brand Finance, the app’s brand value increased by 184 percent to $6.6 billion (roughly Rs. 49,600 crore).
For the second year in a row, the firm has named WeChat the world’s most powerful brand. According to the report, it had a brand value of $62.30 billion (roughly Rs. 4,68,100 crore) in 2022.

In the Brand Finance Global 500 ranking for 2022, the technology sector was once again the most valuable. According to the firm, the sector’s total brand value has surpassed $1.3 trillion (roughly Rs. 97,66,315 crore).
It’s important to note that the brand values reported by Brand Finance are calculated independently by the company and do not reflect the brand’s market capitalization.

iOS 15.2

iOS 15.2 Update Now Allows Users to Reset and Erase Locked iPhones and iPads Without Using a Computer or Mac.

All eligible iPhone models can now get Apple‘s new iOS 15.2 update, which adds a never-before-seen feature. If your iPhone is running iOS 15.2, you won’t need to connect it to a Mac or PC to reset it if it gets locked. An upgraded Security Lockout mode is included in any iPhone that has been updated to the most recent iOS version.

When an iPhone is unlocked, resetting it is simple. All you have to do now is go to the Reset settings and select how you want the reset to take place. You can pick between a full reset, which erases all data and settings, and a partial reset, which merely resets the settings. You can simply unlock an iPhone and then reset it.

When an iPhone is locked, however, it must be reset using either a Mac or a PC. Even then, the procedure is not simple. If you forget your passcode, you can put your iPhone into DFU mode and connect it to a Mac or PC using iTunes. And, while fruitful, the entire process is laborious at best and perplexing at worst.

iOS 15.2

The new feature, according to Apple’s support website, is designed to enable customers to quickly reset their iPhone or iPad if they forget their passcode. Since users must provide their Apple ID credentials to reset a locked iPhone or iPad, it will not be possible for strangers to unlock it.
If you frequently enter the wrong passcode on your device, the Security Lockout mode will appear on the lock screen. It will feature a Remove iPhone or Erase iPad button to permanently erase your data and reset your device, depending on which device you have. After that, you’ll be requested to sign out of your Apple ID on the device by entering your Apple ID password.
It’s vital to remember that if you utilize the Security Lockout option, your data will be fully destroyed from your iPhone or iPad. As a result, it’s a good idea to double-check that you’ve recently backed up your data and settings before starting. Users of iOS 15.2 and iPadOS 15.2 can also take advantage of this feature. You’ll still see the disabled warning with a shortcut to your emergency contact if you’re using an older version.
App Privacy Report and support for Apple Music Voice Plan are also included in the iOS 15.2 and iPadOS 15.2 releases. Besides the two new software releases, Apple also released watchOS 8.3, tvOS 15.2, and macOS Monterey 12.1. Additionally, HomePod customers also received Version 15.2, which supports Apple Music Voice Plan and Siri’s voice recognition for up to six users in French (Canada, France), Spanish (Mexico, Spain), and German (Austria, Germany).

About Company

In April 1976, Steve Jobs, Steve Wozniak, and Ronald Wayne formed Apple, an American technology corporation. The company, which was founded in 1977, was one of the first to provide personal computers with a graphical user interface. In addition to mobile communication devices, digital music players, notebooks, and wearables, the business has forayed into additional consumer electronics areas over the years. In addition, the company creates and sells a variety of related software, services, peripherals, and networking solutions. CEO Tim Cook is a renowned name in the industry. He became the company’s first chief executive officer in 1999.
Apple has a reputation for being a leader in the field of innovation. They were among the first to develop a smartphone app ecosystem. With touchID (a fingerprint scanner) and 64-bit processors, Apple was the first smartphone company to use them, both later adopted by the majority of other companies.

NSO Group

Apple Filed A Lawsuit Against NSO Group For Allegedly Targeting Over A Billion iPhone Users.

Apple has now joined WhatsApp and its parent company Meta (formerly known as Facebook) in suing NSO Group, the maker of Pegasus spyware. Apple says it’s “seeking a permanent injunction to ban NSO Group from using any Apple software, services, or devices,” along with promising new information about how NSO Group infected targeted iPhones via a zero-click exploit that researchers later dubbed ForcedEntry.

“State-sponsored actors like the NSO Group spend millions of dollars on sophisticated surveillance technologies without effective accountability,” says Senior Vice President of Software Engineering Craig Federighi in a statement.

That must be changed… Apple products are the safest consumer electronics on the market, but private companies that create state-sponsored spyware have become even more dangerous.” Apple and WhatsApp aren’t alone in their legal battle with NSO Group; last year, Microsoft and Google joined Apple and WhatsApp in supporting Facebook’s lawsuit.
According to Apple’s press release, Pegasus spyware is designed to allow governments to remotely access a phone’s microphones, cameras, and other data on both iPhones and Androids. According to reports from a journalistic coalition called the Pegasus Project and Apple’s complaint from earlier this year, it’s also designed to infect phones without requiring any action from the user and without leaving a trace.

Forced Entry Exploit By NSO Group

Despite NSO’s claims that its governmental clients are prohibited from using the spyware against journalists, activists, and politicians, Apple cites reports that the spyware has been used against them. It’s understandable that Apple, the company that says “what happens on your iPhone, stays on your iPhone,” would be irritated by its devices and services being used to commit “human rights abuses.”
In a statement to The New York Times, Apple’s senior director of commercial litigation Heather Grenier says the lawsuit is a “stake in the ground” meant to send a “clear signal” that the company will not tolerate “this type of abuse.” Apple claims that NSO violated Apple’s terms of service by creating “more than one hundred” Apple IDs to help it send data to targets, according to the complaint (PDF).
The Court has personal jurisdiction over Defendants because, according to information and belief, they created over one hundred Apple IDs to carry out their attacks and also agreed to Apple’s iCloud Terms and Conditions (“iCloud Terms”), which include a mandatory and enforceable forum selection and exclusive jurisdiction clause that constitutes express consent to this Court’s jurisdiction.
Apple’s complaint explains how the attack worked: NSO would send data to a target via iMessage (after determining that they were using an iPhone) that was maliciously crafted to turn off the iPhone’s logging using the Apple IDs it created. This would allow NSO to install the Pegasus spyware invisibly and control the data collected on the phone. According to Apple, the vulnerability that NSO was exploiting was fixed in iOS 14.8, which you can learn more about here. In short, NSO was sending files that took advantage of a flaw in the way iMessage handled GIFs and PDFs.
“We have not observed any evidence of successful remote attacks against devices running iOS 15 and later versions,” Apple says in a press release, citing improvements to iOS 15 security. Amnesty International stated in July when the Pegasus Project released its reports, that the latest versions of iOS (at the time, iOS 14.6) were vulnerable to attack.

Apple’s Persistent Efforts to Protect Its Customers

A number of new security features are included in iOS 15, including significant improvements to the BlastDoor security mechanism. While the NSO Group spyware is still evolving, Apple has yet to see any evidence of successful remote attacks on iOS 15 and later devices. Apple encourages all iPhone users to update their devices and always use the most up-to-date software.
In addition to the lawsuit against NSO, Apple says it will financially and technically support “organizations pursuing cyber-surveillance research and advocacy.” Citizen Lab, a group of researchers who were involved with the Pegasus Project and helped Apple discover and patch NSO’s exploits, has pledged to give free “technical, threat intelligence, and engineering assistance” to Apple in exchange for $10 million (plus any damages it wins from its lawsuit). Apple also says that “where appropriate,” it will do the same for other organizations.
NSO was recently added to the US Entity List, limiting the ways in which American companies can sell or provide technology to NSO. According to a report by the MIT Technology Review, the sanction has had a significant negative impact on NSO Group’s employee morale as well as its ability to conduct business. According to the report, the company must obtain permission from the US government to purchase items such as Windows laptops and iPhones, and the government has stated that its default decision is to deny such requests.

MacBook Pro

MacBook Pro With M1 Pro And M1 Max Silicon, 3rd Gen Airpods, Colourful Homepod Mini Released: Check Out The Highlights From Apple’s ‘Unleashed’ Special Event.

On Monday, Apple announced several new products, including a new MacBook Pro laptop with more powerful M1 Pro and M1 Max processors, an updated design, and plenty of ports. Apple’s fall event on Monday will highlight the company’s ability to power high-end, professional-grade computers that use its own processors rather than Intel’s. Apple has been replacing Intel processors in its Macs with its own processors since last year. The third-generation AirPods, which have the redesigned Prostyle AirPods but no Active Noise Cancellation, were also revealed by the tech giant (ANC).

M1 Pro And M1 Max

M1 Pro
The M1 Pro has 33.7 billion transistors thanks to the 5-nanometer process technology, and the new 10-core CPU, which includes eight high-performance cores and two high-efficiency cores, measures up to 70 inches longer than the M1, which should look impressive. performance of a professional CPU
M1 Pro delivers up to 1.7 times CPU performance at the same power level as the latest 8-core PC laptop chips and achieves maximum PC chip performance using up to 70% less power.

M1 Max
With 57 billion transistors, a 10-core CPU like the M1 Pro, and a massive 32-core GPU for graphics performance up to four times faster than the M1, the M1 Max is Apple’s largest silicon to date. However, efficiency is still a goal; GPUs deliver performance comparable to high-end GPUs in compact professional laptop PCs while consuming up to 40% less power, and performance comparable to high-end GPUs in larger laptop PCs while consuming up to 100 watts less power.

The M1 Pro and M1 Max will benefit from increased bandwidth and memory capacity. New MacBook Pro Laptops

Apple has unveiled a new MacBook Pro laptop with the M1 Pro and M1 Max chips, available in 14 and 16-inch sizes. A 120Hz ProMotion Liquid Retina XDR display with new mini LED technology, HDMI port, and SD card slot are included in these new models. It has four USBC Thunderbolt ports, a MagSafe magnetic connector, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The Touch Bar has vanished, and function keys have taken its place. The new Force Touch trackpad can be found below. Apple used a notch at the top of the screen for the first time to house its camera. The new MacBook Pro has a 1080p FaceTime camera with a larger image sensor for 2x low-light performance. They also have 6 speakers, including two new tweeters that are twice as large.

Price And Availability

The 14-inch MacBook Pro costs Rs 194,900, while the 16-inch MacBook Pro costs Rs 239,900. They’re available in silver and space grey, and you can preorder them starting today. They’ll be ready to ship the following week. Apple also announced that the next version of its macOS operating system, macOS Monterey, will begin rolling out as an update on Monday, October 25.

AirPods(3rd Generation)

It’s only natural that AirPods get an upgrade, but they’re not as expensive as AirPods Pro. Apple Music Lossless Audio and the introduction of Spatial Audio with Dolby Atmos support have improved cinematic storylines for listening sessions; so it’s only natural that AirPods get an upgrade.
In addition to computational audio with Adaptive EQ, the new AirPods (3rd generation) use the H1 chip with an Apple-designed acoustic system. They’re sweat and water-resistant, and they have a force sensor for easy music and phone control.
The extended battery life of up to six hours of listening time and up to 30 hours of total listening time with the charging case is arguably the most appealing feature of the new AirPods. This is a much-needed upgrade, as this year’s earbuds and headphones are quite good.

Price And Availability

AirPods (3rd generation) will cost $18,500 and will be available for purchase starting October 18 on Apple’s official online store, with in-store availability beginning October 26.

Mini HomePod

Apple’s popular Mini HomePod will come in a variety of bright colours. Orange, yellow, and blue are now available. Previously, only white and dark grey was available. The new colour options will help boost HomePod sales during the holiday season, as it competes with Amazon’s Echo smart speaker.

Voice Plan

The “Voice Plan” is a new level of Apple Music that Apple has announced. It costs Rs 49 per month and is targeted at Spotify users. Voice Plans differ from Apple’s existing individual plans in that they can only be accessed through Siri and do not include spatial audio or other premium features.

iPhone 12

iPhone 12 Is Now Available with the Airpods And Apple Music Subscriptions For Free In Apple’s Festive Deals.

Apple announced a special purchase offer for the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 mini ahead of the festival season. In India, buyers who purchase either phone will get a pair of AirPods for free. This promotion will begin on October 7th and run until November 4th, or until supplies run out, whichever comes first. Because the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 mini are likely to be in limited supply, buyers are advised to purchase the phones on the first day of the offer.
The holiday offer is only available in the Apple Store, which means you must live in an Apple Store-served area to take advantage of it. Although most PINs are eligible for delivery, Apple warned that during peak seasons, products may be “late delivery” or out of stock. Due to the limited stock available, the offer may end sooner than expected. As a result, you’ll have to act quickly to take advantage of the deal.

When you buy an iPhone 12 or iPhone 12 mini, Apple throws in a pair of AirPods and a wireless charging case for free. The price of this AirPods model is Rs 14,900, so that’s the final price. The iPhone is the only thing you have to pay for. Upgrade your AirPods to a model with a wireless case or AirPods Pro, which are priced at Rs 18,900 and Rs 24,900, respectively. In this case, however, Apple will only offer a discount on the Rs 14,900 model. The remaining balance is 4,000 rupees for AirPods with wireless case and 10,000 rupees for AirPods Pro.
The iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 mini, on the other hand, are not available at a discount. They start at Rs 65,900 and Rs 59,900, respectively, as a starting price. It’s a shame because, during festival sales, shopping sites like Flipkart are selling both iPhone 12 models at the lowest prices. At the start of the sale, the iPhone 12 was available for just Rs 49,999, but the price has since increased to Rs 52,999. It’s even better than Apple’s request for the iPhone 12, but it’ll be a niche product. It’s only useful if you just want to buy an iPhone.
No matter which AirPods model you choose, the Apple Store vacation deals make the most sense if you’re looking for iPhones and AirPods. On Amazon and Flipkart, the AirPods are available at a discount of around Rs 4,000 to Rs 5,000 each, making your total spend much higher than what you’d pay at the Apple Store. For those looking to purchase a bundle, the Apple Store offer makes sense. Customers can also get free engravings on AirPods, such as their name or favorite emoji. This service is not available anywhere else. Additionally, when you purchase AirPods, you will receive a six-month free Apple Music membership. For regular customers, it is worth Rs 594.

One of the most valuable companies in the world, Apple is headquartered in Cupertino, California. It produces popular digital gadgets, such as Macs, iPods, iPhones, and iPads, as well as software and services for them.
Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak, two young hackers, founded Apple Computer in 1976. The Apple II, their second product, was the first mass-produced personal computer. It was the Macintosh, released in 1984, that introduced the world to a graphical user interface.
In large part, Apple’s success can be attributed to its obsession with user experience. Different from many other companies, Apple prefers to build all its parts of a product, including the hardware, software, and online services. Apple has been able to create some of the most elegant and easy-to-use products in history thanks to this approach.
