Nvidia corporation has received attention in recent years with its thriving data center business, which trades chips used in artificial intelligence tasks such as natural processing. Even though the corporation’s roots are in graphics chips, the other products yet accounted for 59 percent of its most recent fiscal year’s 26.9 billion USD in revenue.

Graphic Processors of Nvidia have become highly popular chips for AI applications. Previously, they were only used to push and enhance the quality of movies in the gaming industry. The latest graphics processor known as the H100 can help reduce the computation time for some tasks containing AI model training from weeks to days and it is a very big change.

Chief executive officer of Nvidia corporation, Jensen Huang, released the company’s newest “Ada Lovelace” series of graphics chips on Tuesday, named for the 19th-century British mathematician who was regarded as an early innovator in the computer science field. There was also online streaming of the keynote speech.

Nvidia Chief Executive Officer, Jensen Huang, called the H100 processor the “engine” of AI infrastructure, said in a statement, “Data centres are becoming AI factories – processing and refining mountains of data to generate insight.”

Even though Nvidia corporation designs its graphic chips and its partners develop or manufacture them, Jensen Huang uncovered that the “4N” chip manufacturing technology utilized by Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing will be used to develop the chips. This will be a different approach or a departure from Samsung Electronics Corporation Limited which developed the previous gen of flagship gaming chips of Nvidia.

Artificial intelligence is used in the latest Lovelace chips for the advancement of video game graphics. Nvidia Chip is using Artificial intelligence to anticipate the appearance of some pixels without carrying out the full set of computations because it is difficult to calculate what every pixel on the screen should look like. By using these Lovelace chips, it is now easy to generate any game’s entire frame using Artificial intelligence.

Matt Wuebbling, vice president of worldwide GeForce marketing at Nvidia corporation, said in a media report that the Lovelace chip series will be available for sale all over the world and will not get affected by a new ban imposed by the U.S on trading Nvidia’s top data center artificial intelligence (AI) chips to China.

The chips will not consist of a so-called hash-rate limiter which is a technology Nvidia added in its previous gen of chips to limit their use in mining the Ethereum cryptocurrency because of the recent changes made in the tracking of the currency, Matt Wuebbling also stated.

Price and Availability

The GeForce RTX 4040, The predominant and most expensive version of the graphics chip, will be priced at 1599 USD and go on sale on 12th October 2022. Two RTX 4080 versions having lower initial prices will be available for purchase in November and will cost 899 USD and 1,199 USD, respectively.

Besides this, Nvidia also disclosed the Grace CPU super chip which is a new processing chip that complements the GPU chip and is based on Arm technology. It is claimed to be the first new Arm-based processor unveiled by Nvidia since the firm’s contract to acquire Arm limited fell through last month consisting of regulatory issues.

This Grace CPU Sperchip will be launched in the first half of next year and is said to be a bridge between two CPU chips that concentrate on AI and other activities demanding plenty of processor power.

Flying bike

The World’s First Flying Bike launches in the USA, and people are in awe of the bike.

Motorcyclists always want something new and odd when it comes to innovation. Flying bike seemed a very long shot. Car drivers just get excited by getting cup holders and iPod docs but motorcycle riders want something unique that focuses on making the bike and biking even more enjoyable, faster, and safer.

From the world’s first petroleum-powered motorcycle to modern motorcycles with HD evolution Engines we have come a long way.

In the timeframe between the ’90s and 2000s when we were growing up the future of motorcycles or cars was portrayed with flying cars, bikes, and pods. Many people told of having flying cars by 2020 just like the science fiction movies depicted.

But due to the severe changes in climate and awareness about it was increasing and vehicular pollution was at its top the standard of future mobility deflected from flying vehicles to electric and clean mobility.

With these changes over the past years, one thing was evident if the major part of the R&D budget was going to move to make the whole mobility sector electric then there were not enough resources remaining to venture into the flying personal mobility space.

The flying bike and cars gave the impression of being a dream too far from the near future but some companies did not stop or get demotivated by the various reasons floating around and kept working to make this vision true. One such enterprise is a Japanese startup, AERWINS Technologies. They have built a flying bike or a human flying cluster of drones known as XTURISMO hoverbike.

Aerwins Technologies XTURISMO hoverbike was launched last week on Thursday, 15 September 2022, in Motown at the Detroit Auto Show 2022 which was held for the first time since the people were hit by the pandemic. The XTURISMO hoverbike can fly for about forty minutes and achieve a speed of 100 km per hour (62 miles per hour).

The bike appeared similar to the bikes we have seen in the “Star War”. After this bike was unveiled, many people called it “the future of urban mobility”. You may not know but this same flying bike was first displayed during an Auto Show held in Japan last year in October.

The video of this Star Wars look-alike flying bike was widespread on the internet on social media platforms like Twitter. The people were indeed astonished after seeing it land after a flight.

Thad Szott, co-chair of the auto show is heard saying in the video, “I feel like I’m literally 15 years old and I just got out of ‘Star Wars’ and jumped on their bike.” “I mean, it’s awesome! Of course, you have a little apprehension, but I was just so amped. I literally had goosebumps and feel like a little kid.”

How does the XTURISMO hoverbike Work?

This XTURISMO hoverbike utilizes two large central rotors backed by a 228 hp gas-powered Kawasaki motorcycle performance engine for thrust. Together with the main rotors, four smaller electric support rotors are also available on the motorcycle’s edges present on the outer side for maintaining stability.

At present, the hoverbike’s body which is a lightweight carbon fiber body weighs only 299 kg and appears to be 12 feet long. It also features an automatic control unit developed and designed to enhance safety.

Price and Availability

The XTURISMO hoverbike is expensive obviously because it is a flying bike that costs 777,000 USD which is roughly 6 crores INR. It is on sale in Japan already. Since Japan has strict rules for these vehicles so the bike is only allowed to fly over racetracks.

Despite that, Shuhei Komatsu, CEO, and founder of AERWINS stated that the firm is planning to sell a bit small version of this bike in 2023 in the United States. He also said that the firm is trying to cut down the bike’s cost to 50,000 USD for a small, electric model but it will take about 2-3 years for it to be ready. It will probably be ready by 2025.

Ethereum gets greener after completing The Merge

In today’s era, a rising number of firms worldwide are using many digital assets like bitcoin, Ethereum, etc. for operational and transactional purposes as it provides inexpensive and quicker money transfers and consists of decentralized systems which do not disintegrate at a single point of failure. Also, it is more secure, self-governed, and highly managed.

The world’s second most valuable and lucrative cryptocurrency Ethereum has finished a massive software upgrade that its promotors claim will reduce its carbon footprint.

According to a report by Ethereum Foundation, the much-anticipated overhaul which is known as “The Merge”, will decrease the energy consumption of Ethereum by almost 99.95%. This foundation is a non-profit organization devoted to providing support for cryptocurrency and its related technologies.

“The Merge refers to the original Ethereum Mainnet merging with a separate … blockchain called the Beacon Chain,” the organization stated.

“Happy merge all,” Vitalik Buterin, the 28-year-old Russian-Canadian programmer who helped create Ethereum said on Twitter. “This is a big moment for the Ethereum ecosystem. Everyone who helped make the merge happen should feel very proud today,” he added.

“It’s been a long time in the making and the question on traders’ lips right now is will it be the next bullish catalyst for cryptos or a “sell the fact” event,” a senior market analyst at Oanda, Craig Erlam, wrote in a note on Thursday.

Ethereum expects with this switch, that it “will improve security, reduce energy consumption, increase the number of users on the network, and grow its market cap,” Marion Laboure, Deutsche Bank research analyst wrote in a note this week.

Both cryptocurrencies bitcoin and Ethereum were running on a mechanism known as proof-of-work, below which several high-powered computers were compelled to figure out the solutions to highly complex problems.

The merger shifts Ethereum to a mechanism called proof-of-stake, which is significantly way more efficient since it does away with the demand to have computers compete against each other. Despite that, users put their ether into taking part in the race to attain more currency.

In other words, the cons of the mechanism proof-of-work were that it requires a lot of computational effort from all of its decentralized nodes taking part in the blockchain whereas the proof-of-stake mechanism drastically alters how the Ethereum blockchain works as it reduces the demand for mining new blocks.

Originally, Ethereum introduced a separate proof-of-work Beacon chain on 1st December 2020. It was running in correspondence with the primary Ethereum blockchain.

The Ethereum organization launched the Bellatrix upgrade on 6th September 2022 to initiate “The Merge” process. The community decided to swap the proof-of-work mechanism with the proof-of-stake in the first upgrade upon reaching a certain TTD (Total Terminal Difficulty) value on the original Ethereum blockchain.

The co-founder, Vitalik Buterin, also claims that this upgrade will decrease global electricity consumption by 0.2%.

In the last few years, Cryptocurrencies have seen an exceptional rise. Despite that, many believe that they are not good for the environment. According to a platform that keeps track of crypto energy usage which is known as Digiconomist, a single Ethereum transaction is equivalent to the weekly power exhaustion of an average US household. It is also said that the power saved is most likely to become equivalent to the electric consumption of a country like Portugal.

After the news of this upgradation, Ethereum was down by 0.7 percent trading at 1,592.78 USD but analysts claim that this upgrade could have a great impact on the crypto industry in the long run. Bitcoin which is the world’s most valuable cryptocurrency, was down by almost 1 percent trading at 20,174 USD according to a report by CoinDesk.
