StarClinch

From Star Managers To Star Providers – Story Of StarClinch.

– How this solution-oriented startup set its foot in the most unorganized, unstructured industry in an attempt to streamline the infamous ecosystem.

Entrepreneurs are natural at thinking up solutions to problems people face. They have a vision of correcting a wrong in their environment and end up creating something exceptional and offering succor to everyone around them. Similar is the story of Mr. Varun Agrawal, founder, and CEO – StarClinch aka disruptor of the entertainment industry.

The reputation of the Entertainment and Arts industry has been besmirched brutally due to various reasons openly known to the public and followers of footlights. The showbiz industry seeks to captivate, shock, inspire and amuse audiences of every stripe, in spite of all the attractiveness of this arena, some risk-taking is certainly essential — but this industry is likely among the most difficult to manage.

StarClinch
Founder: Mr. Varun Agrawal

The challenges and risks associated – some already established and some emerging are third-party liability, surety/guarantee of performance deliverance, shortage of talent, digitization, non-standardization, etc.

Today, the global market for art is over 50 billion dollars. It is not standardized, the prices are not transparent, and there is no regulation of the sector as a whole. The aforementioned elements are crucial characteristics of any investment asset. The absence of these qualities leaves the art market open to manipulation. These limitations were unimportant in the past because art was mostly purchased for personal use. An example would be if you purchased a painting because you liked it and put it in your living room where you could enjoy looking at it. However, it wasn’t yet a valuable investment asset. Today, however, things are different; art is more diverse than just paintings, and not all artists focus exclusively on producing them.

To consider the art, entertainment, and recreation industry as an investment asset, rectifying the challenges and risks is an uphill struggle. It requires a great deal of determination, vision, ceaseless efforts, and ardent passion to create a smooth ecosystem out of unorganized industry.

The art, culture, and entertainment domains today include audiovisual, cinema, live performance in all its disciplines, music in all its components, museums, and heritage, visual arts, design, architecture, crafts, video games, books, and press. A wide variety of opportunities is available for the artists to express themselves as well as explore what the market has to offer. However, due to the disorganized and unstructured nature of this arena, artists and clients are unable to connect effectively with each other. To provide a solution for this untapped space in the gig economy, the aim of StarClinch is to act as a trust layer and ensure a transparent, efficient business between parties.

Starting in 2015 from a basement with just 3 people and tremendous zeal in their minds, Varun entered the arts and event industry with a vision to capture the management aspect of it. Cut to 2022 with a workforce of 15 people equivalent to 30 in a co-working space, survived a deadly pandemic and its consequences, and completely digitized its website for easy browsing, shortlisting, and booking of talent, the journey of StarClinch has been no less than a rollercoaster.

Back in 2015, StarClinch was more or less an offline business with a website as a listing platform for artists primarily focussing on Live Bands and Singers. The team physically visited their clients which were mainly restaurants and bars in and around Delhi to provide them with lower-budget artists who performed at the cafes. In the good old days, the website was not used as a gateway for online transactions and was not technically forward.

The team started to analyze the problems and issues they experienced firsthand and decided to shift their gear towards adopting an online model of business and scale their product for a smoother interface for both artist buyers as well as artist providers. In 2018, they upped their game by introducing the “See Price” & “Book Now” options on the website which allowed the clients to initiate payments via the website itself after exploring and ruminating the artists’ profiles.

At present, StarClinch is the first Indian company to be VC funded that works in the entertainment sector and is eyeing to capitalize on the opportunity while addressing unstructured talent discovery, reference checks, and performance assurance. The objective is to act as an umbrella platform for its customers and be a one-stop solution for booking any live artist. It is a product that would help budding entertainers & artists make a presence in the gig economy. They recently have assisted organizations such as Maersk Tankers, Twilio, JTB India, and Meesho to procure artists for their events.

There is currently no information on when the OnePlus Nord 2T will be available in India. The OnePlus Nord CE 2 and OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite were recently unveiled by the company. OnePlus has also released the OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite and the Nord Buds in the UK and Europe, in addition to the OnePlus Nord 2T. Apple Previews Major Accessibility Features, Including ‘Door Detection’ In The Upcoming WWDC 2022.

Apple revealed a new set of accessibility capabilities on Tuesday that would help individuals with impairments navigate new places and conversations more easily. The new features, which will be available later this year, combining software, hardware, and machine learning. It’s unusual to hear directly from Apple about new features in unreleased iOS releases. These types of announcements are normally saved for a special occasion, such as WWDC 2022. Apple, based in Cupertino, has announced new accessibility capabilities that will be available shortly, most likely with iOS 16. Door recognition and live subtitles for FaceTime, streaming multimedia, and even spoken chats are among Apple’s latest accessibility capabilities.

What’s new:

  • Live subtitles for videos on iPhones, iPads, and Macs are a huge new feature. People who are deaf or hard of hearing will benefit from this feature. They may use Live Captions on the iPhone, iPad, and Mac, making it easier for them to follow any audio content, such as during a phone call or while watching the video. Users can choose the text size, see Live Captions for all FaceTime call participants, and type responses that are spoken aloud. Later this year, English Live Captions will be available in beta for iPhone 11 and later versions, iPad models with the A12 Bionic and later variants, and Macs with Apple hardware. The live captions function simply allows viewers to watch a video with the sound turned off and read along with the text at the bottom of the screen. The capability is compatible with FaceTime calls, streaming services, and other video conferencing apps, according to Apple. If you’re an Android user, Google already has something comparable.
  • Individuals who are blind or have low vision will be able to use their iPhone or iPad to detect a door when they arrive at a new location, determine how far away they are from it, and describe the door’s properties, such as how it can be opened and any nearby signs or symbols, using Door Detection. Along with People Detection and Image Descriptions, the functionality will be part of a new “Detection Mode” in Magnifier. Only iPhones and iPads with a LiDAR scanner will be able to use Door Detection. It will also indicate whether the door is open or closed, as well as whether it can be opened by pushing, pulling, turning a knob, or pulling a handle. Even signs and symbols around the door, such as room numbers or the accessible entrance logo, are read by the function.

Apple Watch Mirroring makes use of a combination of hardware and software, including “advanced AirPlay features.”. AirPlay advancements will allow consumers to utilize their iPhones to access Apple Watch apps like Blood Oxygen, Heart Rate, Mindfulness, and more.
  • Apple Watch users will be able to use a double-pinch motion to answer or end a phone call, dismiss a notification, snap a photo, play or pause media in the New playing apps, and start, pause, or continue a workout using Quick Actions. This year, all of these new accessibility features will be implemented.
  • Apple will add 20 new languages and locations to voiceover, its screen reader for blind and poor vision customers, including Bengali, Bulgarian, Catalan, Ukrainian, and Vietnamese. Users will also be able to choose from hundreds of new optimized voices across languages, as well as a new Text Checker tool to detect text formatting issues. There will also be sound and haptic feedback for Voiceover users in Apple Maps to find the starting point for walking directions, as well as adjustable response times for Siri, new themes and customization options in Apple Books, and sound and haptic feedback for unique home doorbells and appliances.

The announcement of new accessibility capabilities comes just days before Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC 2022), which will be held entirely online from June 6 to June 10. WWDC 2022 is an annual developer conference where Apple usually announces new versions of iOS, iPadOS, macOS, watchOS, and tvOS. CalAmp

The Founding

The company is a provider of Internet of Things software applications, cloud services, data intelligence, and telematics products and services based in Irvine, California. Previously known as California Amplifier Inc., it was created in 1981 in Newbury Park, California, by Jacob Inbar and David Nichols, who met while working at Eaton Corporation’s microwave business. The company started by making microwave signal amplifiers and other equipment for satellite television and broadband communications.

Following a successful first half of the decade, California Amplifier’s financial strength declined in the second part of the decade. As the company experienced downturns in both of its business sectors, the revenue total recorded in 1996 became the highest of the decade. In January 1998, California Amplifier restructured its organization, forming three business units: satellite goods, wireless cable products, and voice and data products. In September 1999, the company made more changes when it merged its wireless cable and voice and data units into a single entity called wireless access products.

CalAmp, like many other businesses, has rebounded from the economic slump that began in 2008. Friedlander is pleased with the company’s unrestricted growth as the economy begins to warm.

Perpetual Growth

In an industry where the next technical improvement that alters the game is always on the horizon, companies like CalAmp must stay on top of these developments.

Friedlander recently explained that CalAmp has updated its hardware components for rail and Positive Train Control (PTC) compliance, as well as for FirstNet/B14, a communication server used by first responders across the country. Similarly, the company has improved its SaaS for mobile applications for customers with vehicle loans or fleet management.

Although the hardware is an important part of their services, CalAmp is also a full-service solutions provider, offering not only devices and industry-leading embedded firmware, but also a suite of market-leading software applications and a platform on which their customers may develop.

Jeff Gardner- CEO of CalAmp

Jeff Gardner, CalAmp’s dynamic CEO, has guided the business’s strategic evolution from a telematics device company to a leading software-as-a-service supplier of linked intelligence about vehicles, drivers, assets, and cargo. CalAmp has become the premier partner to market leaders in transportation & logistics, government & municipalities, insurance, and construction under Gardner’s leadership, enabling them to track, monitor, and recover vital assets with real-time visibility and insights—ultimately helping the world work efficiently so that individuals and corporations everywhere can proser.
